Yes, You Do Look Fat In That!

If you have to ask, you already know the answer - however, the reason you look fat in that is not always because you are carrying extra weight (although some of us simply don't have the time to get to the gym as often as we would like). The reason you are looking plump could also be because what you are wearing is either too small for you or the silhouette is just wrong for your body type.
In this juicy column, I'm going to share with you a few tips and tricks from my own closet that you need to know.
1. If your thighs are your area of concern, wear pants that fall straight down from the widest part of your thigh. This will create the illusion of longer, leaner legs.
2. Do tummy challenges have you in a funk? Well, stop worrying because what you need to know is right here.
a. Fabrics such as soft knits and cashmere flow best over curves.
b. Avoid too much detail around your torso (fabric designs or belts over top of your garments used as an accessory). This will draw attention to your tummy.
c. Your mother is right! Horizontal stripes draw attention to your waist and can make you look full. Vertical stripes create the illusion of an elongated torso.
d. Draw attention to other parts of your body. Details close to your collarbone draw attention to your beautiful face!
3. Clothing that is too big for your body adds extra pounds so stop hiding behind baggy clothes. Clothing that is too tight makes you look like two litres of milk squeezed into a one litre bag. Ew, bad mental image! There's simply no reason why anyone needs to have love-handles!
4. Worried that your bum is too big? Avoid extra details and designs on the back of your pants.
These easy strategies should get you on track and have you feeling confident in your body once again. Now, watch the heads in the room turn to you!
Final Words of Wisdom
It is a fact that one of the most common lies men tell women is, "No honey, you don't look fat in that." Years ago, a good girlfriend of mine taught me that if I slant my floor-length mirror slightly, I will look taller and leaner. I have been using this tip every day since. No matter if I am having a skinny day or a fat day, this is my body and when I walk out the door, I want to feel amazing! So try this trick. It will make you feel fabulous everyday!
